DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nAuckland Secondary Schools Maori & Pacific Islands Cultural Festival\n[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text css=””]The ASB Polyfest festival features traditional music\, dance\, costume and cultural speech competitions\, and is one of the most recognised events on the Auckland calendar. It’s a showcase of New Zealand’s diverse cultures and a celebration of youth performance. \nStudents traditionally compete on six stages\, performing traditional items from the following cultures – Cook Islands\, Māori\, Niue\, Samoa\, Tonga and Diversity stage featuring performances from a range of cultural groups including Fijian\, Tokelau\, Chinese\, Korean and Indian. \n\nBDSC students will be performing on the Diversity Stage\, If you would like to support our students and watch their performances\, we warmly invite you to attend.\nPerformance Schedule: \n\n3.20 pm – Indian Dance Group\n3.40 pm – Chinese Dance Group\n3.50 pm – Punjabi Dance Group\n4.00 pm – Lion Dance Group\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]A whole school event held on school grounds. Compulsory for Years 9-11. \nSaver day – TBC. \nCross Country counts towards the Whānau Shield and points are gained dependent on your finishing position. \n\nStudents in Year 9 will change into full Health & PE uniform during interval in preparation for their event in Period 3.\nYear 9 Girls run 3km (3 laps) and Year 9 Boys run 4km (4 Laps) \nYear 10 students will come to school in full Health & PE uniform in preparation for the event in Period 2. Students must bring their school uniform to school and change into school uniform following the completion of their event.\nYear 10 Boys and Girls run 4km (4 laps) \nCompulsory for Year 11 students; for our Year 12 and Year 13 this is optional\, however we expect our top teams to run. Year 11 and Senior Students will change into full Health & PE uniforms during interval in preparation for their event in Period 4.\nYear 11 Girls\, Year 11 Boys and Senior Girls run 4km (4 laps) and Senior Boys run 6km (6 laps). \nRemember…\n\nCorrect BDSC PE uniform or Whānau coloured top and PE shorts or sport appropriate shorts if senior students no longer own the PE short.\nStudents should wear trainers or covered shoes!
