DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””] \n\n\nOur Student Ball Committee is excited to present this year’s Senior School Ball\, to be held at the Ellerslie Event Centre on Friday 8 May.\n \nEligibility to Attend\nAttendance at the Ball is a privilege for all Year 12 and Year 13 students. We expect students to consistently demonstrate BDSC’s Our Way values: Respect\, Excellence\, Integrity\, and Care for others. Behaviours that do not reflect these values—such as poor conduct\, poor uniform standards\, concerning unjustified absences\, or low engagement scores—may affect eligibility. \nStudents with outstanding charges from previous years (e.g.\, lost textbooks\, unpaid trip costs\, or unreturned sports equipment) must clear any amounts owing before purchasing tickets.\n\nOutside Partner Applications \nYear 12 and 13 students may apply to bring a partner from outside BDSC. The Outside Partner Ball Invitation Form can be downloaded from the Student Hub: Senior Ball Outside Partner.pdf \nCompleted forms must be submitted to Mrs Clark at Level 2 Reception by Wednesday 18 March\, before tickets go on sale. All applications will be vetted\, including parent contact\, and approved forms will be available for collection from Mrs Clark. \nNote: If the proposed partner is a former BDSC student\, attendance may be declined if fees are outstanding or if they have previously failed to uphold our school values. All partners must be Year 12 or above. \nTicket Sales\nTickets are $135.00 each\, covering all Ball costs\, including venue hire\, catering\, DJ\, photography\, decorations\, and ticketing. We work hard to keep the cost as low as possible. \nTickets can be purchased from the Finance Centre\, from Monday 23 March to Thursday 23 April. \nLay-by is available with a minimum $35 deposit\, with full payment due by Thursday 23 April. Students must present a signed Code of Conduct (available on Student Hub) before purchasing a ticket. Tickets will be issued on Friday 8 May\, following the Ball assembly. \nVenue Safety and Expectations\nSenior Leadership\, teaching staff\, and professional security will be present throughout the evening. Students may not leave the venue before the Ball concludes. \nşŹĐ߲ݴŤĂ˝ rules apply at all times\, including for outside partners. Security will check bags\, pockets\, and jackets for prohibited items. Note that the venue prohibits chewing gum\, lip gloss\, and mints. \nFailure to comply with the BDSC Code of Conduct may result in the student and their partner being asked to leave without refund\, and further disciplinary action may follow. \nStudents must not consume alcohol beforehand. DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]School Finishes: 12.30pm \n\nThere are two scheduled whole-school opportunities to meet face-to-face (kanohi ki te kanohi) or online in Terms 1 and 2\, following the report. \nTerm 1: Wednesday 25 March and Tuesday 31 March \nTerm 2: Tuesday 9 June and Wednesday 17 June \nThis opportunity will comprise 10-minute briefings about progress in each subject. If more time is required to discuss\, then an alternative time must be scheduled. \nSubject teachers\, and students\, present a summary of how the student is progressing and any next steps required. The nature of the conference is a focused dialogue (as it is timed for 10 minutes). DESCRIPTION:Mufti-day fundraiser in support of Student Welfare Activities. \nPlease ensure students bring a $2 Gold Coin(s) for this\, and the coins will be collected Period 2. \nThe şŹĐ߲ݴŤĂ˝ mufti dress code applies. That is: \n\nClothing\, although casual\, must be appropriate for a college environment;\nNo slogans referring to smoking\, alcohol and drugs\, any sexual or inappropriate connotations;\nThe mid-section of the body is to be covered and any student wearing a skirt or shorts deemed inappropriate will be required to wear one provided by the şŹĐ߲ݴŤĂ˝ (all skirts and shorts should be at least mid-thigh in length i.e. no midi/mini-skirts or short shorts);\nFootwear is to be smart/ casual.  School shoes will be issued to students who wear inappropriate footwear.  Suitable footwear\, i.e. enclosed shoes\, must be worn for practical classes (Health & PE\, Science and Technology).\nThe normal standards of hair colour apply so please do not colour your hair for the day;\nDo not bring any props or costumes\, as they may be inappropriate or be a distraction to learning in the classroom.
